The upcoming Yamaha EC-06 2026 electric scooter marks Yamaha’s significant entry into the practical segment of the electric two-wheeler market, developed in collaboration with EV startup River. Positioned as an urban-focused commuter, its highlight is a highly competitive certified range of 160 km from a 4 kWh fixed battery pack, aimed at reducing range anxiety for daily riders. The scooter is powered by a 6.7 kW peak output motor and features distinctly angular, sporty bodywork that sets it apart from its platform twin, the River Indie. Key features include a full-color LCD display with built-in SIM-based telematics for connectivity, three riding modes, and a reverse assist function. With a practical 24.5-litre underseat storage compartment, the EC-06 blends Yamaha’s hallmark quality and design with an efficient, long-range electric powertrain. It is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026.
