Ather Energy recently unveiled two new concepts, the EL01 and the Redux, at its Community Day 2025 event, each showcasing a distinct direction for the company's future. The Ather EL01 concept serves as the first prototype for the company's new, scalable "EL" platform. This platform, built on a cost-effective unibody steel frame, is designed to be highly modular, allowing for the creation of various scooter types - from family-oriented models to maxi-scooters - with a common foundation. The EL01 itself is a family scooter concept with features like a large floorboard, ample under-seat storage, and a new electronic braking system.
In contrast, the Ather Redux is a more futuristic and experimental "moto-scooter" concept. This showcase of cutting-edge technology is not intended for immediate production but rather to explore new ideas in design and rider interaction. The Redux features a lightweight aluminum frame, a 3D-printed lattice mesh seat, and body panels made from an experimental composite material called AmplyTex. Its most striking features are its "adaptive ride dynamics" and "posture-based transformation," allowing the scooter to change its ergonomics and UI based on the rider's position. It also boasts a haptic throttle for physical feedback and a "Take-off" mode for rapid acceleration.
