The newly unveiled Ducati Formula 73 is an exclusive, limited-edition modern cafe racer and the first model in Ducati’s new Heritage lineup. Limited to just 873 individually numbered units worldwide, the motorcycle pays tribute to the legendary 1973 Ducati 750 Super Sport Desmo, the first production Ducati to feature the brand’s signature desmodromic valve system. It also draws inspiration from the 1972 Ducati 750 Imola Desmo, which achieved victory at the Imola 200.
Visually, the Formula 73 captures the spirit of 1970s racing with its striking silver and aquamarine livery, green steel trellis frame, clip-on handlebars, bar-end mirrors, and compact front cowl. Its fuel tank features a vertical gold stripe inspired by the translucent fuel-level window found on the original fiberglass tanks. Beneath its retro styling, the motorcycle features a modern, Scrambler-derived chassis powered by an 803cc, air-cooled Desmodue L-twin engine producing 73 hp and 65.2 Nm of torque. Premium components include a custom Termignoni exhaust with gold detailing, 17-inch spoked wheels fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires, Brembo brakes, cornering ABS, traction control, and a 4.3-inch TFT display. Combining iconic racing heritage with contemporary engineering, the Ducati Formula 73 offers a distinctive blend of classic style and modern performance.
