The newly launched Bajaj Chetak C2501 (also known as the Chetak C25) marks a strategic shift for the brand, positioning itself as its most affordable and accessible electric scooter to date. Designed specifically for urban agility, it sheds approximately 22 kg to achieve a nimble kerb weight of 107 kg. Unlike its more expensive siblings, the C25 is powered by a 2.2 kW hub-mounted motor paired with a 2.5 kWh NMC battery, delivering a practical top speed of 55 km/h and a claimed IDC range of 113 km.
Despite being positioned as an entry-level model, it retains the premium all-metal body and IP67 water resistance that define the Chetak legacy. The scooter also introduces several design updates, including a new horizontal LED tail-lamp and a more conventional telescopic front fork for improved handling on city roads. On the practicality front, it offers a 25-litre under-seat storage compartment and a colour LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity, making it a competitive, no-nonsense choice for daily commuters seeking durability and style without a premium price tag.
