The newly released 2027 BMW F 450 GS firmly positions itself in the mid-size adventure segment, offering a lightweight and agile alternative to today's larger, high-displacement ADV motorcycles. Drawing clear design inspiration from its flagship sibling, the BMW R 1300 GS, it features the signature X-shaped LED headlight and the iconic GS silhouette. Beneath the bodywork is an all-new, liquid-cooled 420cc parallel-twin engine that produces a class-competitive 48 horsepower and 32 lb-ft of torque. BMW has paired this new powerplant with a 135-degree crankshaft offset to deliver a smooth, characterful ride with a throaty exhaust note while keeping the wet weight to a remarkably light 393 pounds.
On the technology front, the bike introduces the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), an advanced centrifugal clutch system that allows riders to stop and start without using the clutch lever, making low-speed technical off-road riding and stop-and-go city traffic significantly easier. Complementing its impressive performance, the F 450 GS comes equipped with a premium 6.5-inch TFT display, lean-sensitive ABS Pro, and robust KYB suspension offering 7.1 inches of travel. Altogether, the new BMW F 450 GS proves that you do not need a massive 1200cc adventure bike to confidently tackle challenging backcountry trails.
