The newly released Norton Atlas and Atlas GT represent a major milestone in Norton's modern "Resurgence" strategy under parent company TVS, marking the iconic British manufacturer's entry into the competitive middleweight adventure and sport-touring segment. Both motorcycles are built around an all-new 585cc liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft, producing 69 bhp at 9,300 rpm and 57.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. While sharing a lightweight steel trellis frame, a sleek "reductive" design with concealed fixings, and a wet weight of under 200 kg, the two models are engineered for distinct purposes.
The Atlas is designed for off-road and all-terrain adventures, featuring a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, 180 mm of KYB suspension travel, higher ground clearance, and an 845 mm seat height.
The Atlas GT is tailored for tarmac-focused touring, equipped with 17-inch street-oriented wheels at both ends, a firmer 140 mm KYB suspension setup, and a lower 815 mm seat height for enhanced on-road handling and rider confidence.
Both models are packed with advanced technology, including an 8-inch touchscreen TFT display with integrated navigation and a comprehensive Bosch six-axis IMU that enables lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, slide control, wheelie control, and cornering cruise control. Higher-spec Apex variants further enhance the package with electronic combined braking, vehicle hold assist, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), heated grips, and adaptive cornering lights. Overall, the Atlas duo blends purposeful British craftsmanship with modern technology, positioning Norton as a serious contender in the highly competitive middleweight adventure and sport-touring market.
