The newly released Yamaha Aerox-E marks Yamahas entry into the premium performance electric scooter segment, translating the aggressive, race-inspired maxi-scooter styling of its petrol-powered sibling into a zero-emission platform. Built on a sturdy underbone chassis with 14-inch alloy wheels and wide tires, it retains the signature motorcycle-like high-speed stability and sharp handling characteristics that riders expect from the Aerox lineup. At its core, the Aerox-E is powered by a swingarm-mounted 9.4 kW electric motor producing 48 Nm of torque and reaching a top speed of 95.5 km/h. Power comes from two removable 1.5 kWh lithium-ion batteries, delivering an Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) certified range of up to 117 km. It is equipped with modern features, including a 5-inch color TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation via Y-Connect, a keyless SmartKey system, single-channel ABS, Traction Control, multiple ride modes, and a dedicated 10-second Boost button for quick overtaking. While the under-seat placement of the removable batteries reduces storage space compared to the ICE version, the Aerox-E stands out as a premium, high-tech electric scooter designed for enthusiasts who prioritize sporty styling, connected technology, and dynamic riding performance over everyday utility.
