The upcoming BMW F 450 R is expected to be the naked roadster counterpart to the recently unveiled F 450 GS, bringing BMW’s new mid-capacity platform into the street-focused segment. At its heart lies a newly developed 420cc parallel-twin engine designed specifically for the A2 license class, delivering a punchy 48 hp and roughly 43 Nm of torque. What sets this powerplant apart is its unique 135-degree crankshaft offset, which promises a characterful, rumbly exhaust note and smoother power delivery compared to traditional 270-degree twins. To keep the ride agile and accessible, the bike is expected to feature a lightweight steel trellis frame and a wet weight potentially under 175 kg, making it a formidable rival for the KTM 390 Duke and Kawasaki Z400.
