Positioned as the spiritual successor to the legendary 640 Adventure, the newly unveiled 2027 KTM 690 Rally transforms the proven 690 Enduro R platform into a factory-built, long-range middleweight rally machine. At its core is KTM’s updated 692.7cc LC4 single-cylinder engine, producing a claimed 78 horsepower and 53.8 lb-ft of torque, housed within a reworked chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame with dedicated mounting points for rally hardware.
Built to eliminate the need for aftermarket conversion kits, the most prominent addition is a front rally tower complete with a 4.2-inch TFT display, aggressive LED lighting derived from the 450 Rally Replica, and an integrated windshield for extended highway and desert-liaison protection. A key highlight is its expanded 20-liter (5.28-gallon) total fuel capacity, achieved by combining two new front-mounted auxiliary tanks with the existing rear tank. A handlebar-mounted switch allows riders to actively select which tank draws fuel, helping them customize weight distribution on the fly.
Suspended by long-travel, fully adjustable WP XPLOR components and featuring a comprehensive electronics suite, including lean-angle-sensitive traction control, Offroad ABS, and dynamic slip-adjusting Rally modes, the 690 Rally fills the sweet spot between lightweight dual-sports and heavy adventure bikes, making it an appealing choice for serious off-road exploration.
