Building on the legendary “Shine” legacy, the upcoming Honda Shine Electric is set to become Honda’s latest affordable electric motorcycle, targeting the mass-market commuter segment. Recently filed patent drawings suggest that it will be based on the Shine 100 platform, prioritizing mechanical simplicity and durability over flashy technology. While specific details remain under wraps, it is expected to feature a swappable battery system—similar to the recently launched Activa e—utilizing two Honda Mobile Power Packs. This setup would likely provide a city-focused range of 100–120 km per charge, with performance comparable to that of a 100cc–110cc petrol bike.
Design-wise, it is expected to retain the classic and approachable silhouette of the petrol-powered Shine, featuring a long, comfortable seat and an upright riding posture. To keep costs competitive, Honda may opt for a simple digital-analog instrument cluster and basic cycle parts, such as drum brakes and twin rear shock absorbers.
