The 2025 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is an adventure motorcycle designed for both on-road and off-road experiences. It features a new 452cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, known as the 'Sherpa 450', producing 40 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that includes a slip-and-assist clutch for smoother gear shifts.
The bike is built on a twin-spar frame and is equipped with Showa suspension components: 43mm upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, both offering 200mm of travel. This setup provides a ground clearance of 230mm, suitable for various terrains. The Himalayan 450 rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels fitted with dual-purpose tubed tires, sized 90/90-21 at the front and 140/80-17 at the rear.
Braking is managed by a 320mm front disc and a 270mm rear disc, both supplied by ByBre, with dual-channel ABS that can be deactivated at the rear for off-road riding. The motorcycle's seat height is adjustable between 825mm and 845mm with the standard seat, and a lower seat option reduces it to between 805mm and 825mm. With a fully fueled 17-liter tank, the Himalayan 450 has a kerb weight of 198kg.
In terms of technology, the Himalayan 450 is the first Royal Enfield model to feature riding modes—Eco and Performance—and comes with a color TFT instrument cluster that supports smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. This display offers navigation, music playback, and call management. The bike also includes all-LED lighting, with the taillight integrated into the rear indicators.
