The 2026 Ducati DesertX is getting a significant update with a brand-new 890cc V2 engine. This new engine, which already powers the Panigale V2, Streetfighter V2, and Multistrada V2, promises improved performance, enhanced agility, and better weight distribution.
The new engine is lighter and more compact, weighing approximately 54 kg. It's expected to deliver similar or slightly higher torque than the current 937cc Testastretta engine, with more efficient delivery, especially beneficial for off-road control and trail work.
Alongside the engine swap, the chassis is expected to be refined with lighter components, a revised swingarm, and possibly a redesigned rear section. These changes aim to reduce overall weight, building on the weight savings Ducati achieved in models like the Multistrada V2.
The updates will retain the aggressive and rugged "DesertX" silhouette, yielding a more nimble adventure machine without sacrificing its long-distance or off-road capability.
